Bora Bora · Bora Bora lagoon
A tiny private motu of its own in the middle of the lagoon, with around thirty bungalows and a 360-degree outlook that takes in both Otemanu and the open ocean.
A whole motu, very small
The property
Most Bora Bora resorts sit on a stretch of a larger motu. Sofitel Private Island has an entire small islet to itself, which means the view rotates the whole way round — Otemanu on one side, the reef and open Pacific on the other. It is small, quiet and old-school Polynesian rather than glossy, and the house reef immediately off the bungalows is one of the better ones in the lagoon.
Where you sleep
Around thirty overwater and beach bungalows. Which one is right depends on the month and who is travelling — that is the first thing we will ask.
