Seychelles · Alphonse Group, outer islands
A working conservation island in the outer Seychelles with the most famous saltwater fly-fishing flats on earth, plus diving and beaches that see a few dozen guests at most.
The fly-fishing island
The property
Alphonse is spoken of with reverence by fly-fishers: the St François lagoon nearby offers giant trevally, bonefish, triggerfish and milkfish on flats so productive the island runs strict rod limits. Everyone else gets an outer island in near-original condition — nesting turtles, huge bird colonies, empty beaches and diving on walls that drop into blue. Accommodation is simple-luxurious bungalows under the palms.
Where you sleep
Beach bungalows, suites and villas under the palms. Which one is right depends on the month and who is travelling — that is the first thing we will ask.
