Private island, conservation-first
Frégate is a working conservation island that happens to have a resort on it. There is a very large free-roaming Aldabra giant tortoise population, and the island is a stronghold for the Seychelles magpie-robin, brought back from near extinction. Seven beaches serve a small number of residences, so Anse Victorin — often cited among the world's best beaches — is regularly empty. Guests are given a buggy and largely left alone.
