Rangali splits into a family island and an adults-only island connected by a long bridge, which solves the usual tension between the two. Ithaa sits five metres below the surface under an acrylic dome and has been copied everywhere since it opened. South Ari is the whale shark atoll: they are present year-round rather than seasonally, and the resort runs regular excursions to find them.
