The property

A coral island, not granite

Denis is a different Seychelles entirely — a low coral island 95km north of Mahé, ringed by beach, with none of the boulders the inner islands are known for. It sits on the edge of the Seychelles plateau, where the seabed drops away sharply, which makes the deep-sea fishing exceptional. The island runs a working farm supplying most of the kitchen, and there are around twenty-five cottages and nothing else.

What makes it itself

Why people choose it

  1. 01

    Deep-sea fishing

The island sits at the plateau drop-off — among the best big-game grounds in the Indian Ocean.

  2. 02

    A coral island

Flat and beach-ringed, geologically unlike the granitic inner islands.

  3. 03

    Working farm

Most of what the kitchen serves is grown or raised on the island.

  4. 04

    Turtle nesting

Green and hawksbill turtles nest on the beaches.
