Lagen sits in a calm cove backed by limestone cliffs and dense forest, which makes it the wildlife pick — monitor lizards, macaques and a long list of birds are routine sightings from the walkways. Water villas sit over the lagoon on stilts, and the sheltered water makes it the most family-friendly of the El Nido islands. The Big Lagoon is close by boat.
