- Walled garden
- Sunken marble bath
Mauritius · Turtle Bay, Balaclava, north-west
Set in twenty acres of tropical garden on a marine conservation bay, with the low-key, precise service Oberoi is known for.
Understated, garden-set, service-led
The property
The Oberoi takes the opposite approach to the big beach resorts: pavilions and villas scattered through mature gardens, thatch and local stone, and a deliberately quiet register. Turtle Bay is a protected marine area, so the swimming and snorkelling are calm and the water clear. Villas come with private walled gardens, and the larger ones with pools. It is the pick for people who want service depth without spectacle.
Where you sleep
Luxury pavilions and villas with walled gardens; villas with private pools. Which one is right depends on the month and who is travelling — that is the first thing we will ask.
