The east coast has the calmest lagoons for children, and these two resorts are twenty minutes apart. LUX* Belle Mare is lively and easy; Four Seasons Anahita is villas only, each with a private pool, plus an Ernie Els course and a private island beach club. Days out — Ile aux Cerfs, the giant tortoises, the Pamplemousses garden — are easy from both.
