Marine science meets resort
Landaa Giraavaru is where a Maldives holiday can also be an education. The Marine Discovery Centre runs a coral propagation programme and the Maldivian Manta Ray Project from the island, and guests can join the work rather than just watch it. Hanifaru Bay — the single greatest manta aggregation site on earth during the southwest monsoon — is a short boat ride away. The resort itself is spacious and family-strong, with an Ayurvedic retreat that is among the most credible in the region.
