The only resort in its atoll
Laamu is deep south and barely developed — Six Senses is the only resort in the whole atoll, which means the reefs are in a condition you rarely see. The architecture is unpolished timber and thatch on purpose. Maldives Underwater Initiative, run from the island, is among the most credible marine science operations in the country, covering coral, turtles, dolphins and manta. There is a consistent surf break off the resort.
